Spring Break

Animal Kingdom
I hope everyone enjoyed a long week off from school. During the break, I worked ahead on as much homework as possible before leaving to visit my sister in Florida for a few days. My sister and I flew down on Thursday evening. Once we walked out the sliding doors of the airport, we were greeted with the best humid air that only belongs to Florida. The first night, we went to Universal City Walk, where we stretched our legs before heading to bed to prepare for the long days ahead.

In the morning, we woke up early and prepared to head to Disney. My older sister works there as a robotic intern, working on the animatronics and other cool things that I barely understand. She also studied at ONU, but she graduated the year before I came. We began our day at Animal Kingdom and headed straight to Pandora. We did not spend too long there. She is only allowed to share park-hopper tickets, so then we went to something called Cast Connections. This is a small store on Disney property that sells old props and merchandise, which are either expired or damaged, to Cast Members. It was extremely cool.

Magic Kingdom
Next, we went to Hollywood studios to hang out in the Star Wars section. Next, we went to Epcot and walked to each country. There we stopped for lunch and shopped. I think we spent most of our time there. We then took the monorail to Magic Kingdom to get Dole Whip. We mostly moved from one park to the next, doing a few things that we really wanted to do, because we only had one day planned for Disney activities.

My feet were definitely sore at the end of the day. But the next day, we headed off to Epic Universe at Universal. We arrived at the park opening to get in line for the Harry Potter ride in the Ministry of Magic area of the park because my sister’s friend worked on it, and we wanted to send him a picture of us there. We arrived so early that we did not have to wait long at all. After, we headed to Burk where we explored the How to Train Your Dragon section. This one was my sister Chloe’s favorite. We made our way through each ‘world’ throughout the day. It was so cool to experience each one and interact with some of the characters that walked around.

Epic Universe
Then, we were on a flight back to Ohio. The trip was short, but it was so much fun. Thankfully, it was not very hot while we were there, and it was great to visit with my sister and see some of the Disney and Universal parks.
