Summer Plans

This semester’s dead week came up before I even noticed. I feel like during the fall semester, I could not wait for dead week and for all my exams to be finished. However, during this spring semester, I feel like I had spring break and immediately needed to finish all my final projects and study for final exams. I really cannot believe my first year of college is almost over.
We are so close to the end of the semester that I cannot stop thinking about summer. This year, my family is going on vacation to California right after finals end, and it is the only thing motivating me to keep studying. We are meeting my sister and her husband, and both of my aunts. One of my mom’s cousins also lives there because her husband works for Tesla, and we are planning to visit them for a couple of days.
We chose California because my grandma loves Disney and has never been to Disneyland before, so my parents wanted to take her while she is still able to enjoy the trip. She also loves going to the beach and warm weather.
While in California, we plan to go to the beach, shop and spend time with family since many of us live far from each other. I have never been there before, so I am super excited to see what it is like. Normally, my family goes to Florida, so California is a new experience.
After California, I am going to work at Scooters, my off-campus job, and do some social media work for one of the local businesses in my hometown. I also plan to keep working a day or two during the week at my on-campus job. It is super fun to be on campus when classes are not in session because there are so many fewer people. I will also be preparing for the semester ahead, attending Orientation Leader meetings, posting for Student Senate and working to get the Business Professionals of America club ready to have regular meetings and compete in the yearly conferences. While the summer seems much less busy than the school year, I am sure it will be over before I know it.
